家庭監護工如何照顧老人
1.監護工必須具有關心、愛心、耐心。
2.監護工需幫助老人保持生活舒適、乾淨環境,使他保持心境愉快,老人不適宜每天洗澡,否則皮膚可能會癢,老人的指甲較硬厚(尤其是腳指甲),替老人剪指甲前,用溫水將指甲浸泡使其變軟。
3.必須慎重注意餵老人吃藥的時間、藥量、方法。
4.如老人長年躺臥床上(行動不便),每隔3小時將老人移動朝床右側或左側,並將睡墊放在老人背部,如此當老人睡覺時會感覺舒服。
5.餵老人準備果凍類和較鬆軟食物,使老人較易吞食,偶爾讓老人吃鮮奶和水果。
6.須幫老人輕輕地按摩身體,使老人血液循環暢通。
7.當老人患有高血壓或低血壓時,監護工須經常幫老人量血壓。
8.要經常和老人交談,說故事給老人聽,令老人感覺愉快有歸屬感。
9.必須非常謹慎照顧老人避免意外發生,老人走動時要幫助他避免跌倒造成骨折,不要讓老人爬高或拿高處的東西,保持廁所地面乾淨、陪老人外出時將老人牽好,避免意外發生。
10.中風病人要2個小時翻身一次,避免長褥瘡。
11.餵飽前給病人拍背半小時,使全身血液循環暢快。
12.雇主若有指定食物,一定要按雇主交代,不可自行增減改變。
13.陪伴老人外出散步時,要注意安全,並且不可遠離與朋友閒聊或打電話。
CARETAKING
1.Being a caretaker, you must have concern, love and care for the aged or patient.
2.A caretaker has the responsibility of maintaining a pleasant and comfortable surrounding for the aged or patient.Don't bath the aged everyday, wiping may be necessary. Cut his/her nails regularly, but remember to soak it in lukewarm water first before cutting since age's nails are usually hard.
3.Be aware of patient or age's time of taking medicine, dosage, and way of feeding.
4.If the patient is bedridden, turn the patient every 3 hours towards left or right alternately, and put a pillow behind his back to make him more comfortable.
5.Feed the aged/patient light foods that can be chewed and swallowed easily like jelly, fruits and fresh milk.
6.Massage the aged regularly for better blood circulation.
7.Take the blood pressure regularly when the patient has low or high blood pressure.
8.Make it a habit of talking or telling stories to create a lighter atmosphere.
9.Be careful when taking care of the patient to avoid accidents that may cause bone fracture. Don't let aged get things on higher places. Maintain dryness and cleanliness of bathroom floor, and assist the aged when walking outdoors.
10.When taking care of bedridden patient ,remember to turn his body every 2hours to prevent soreness.
11.Pat patient’s back for half –hours before feeding to maintain good circulation.
12.Prepare only the designated food order by the employer do not add or change something.
13.Be aware of aged safety when accompanying them for a walk outdoors. Remember not to leave them alone for private calls or chat with others.
